Leadership Development Requirements, or LDRs, are extra-curricular teams within AFJROTC that allow cadets to get involved in the program outside of class. Participation in LDRs is a fantastic way to meet new people, explore potential interests, and help run the program.
CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air & Space Forces Association to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation's future. At the core of the program is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, the nation's largest cyber defense competition that puts high school and middle school students in charge of securing virtual networks.
The Kitty Hawk Honor Society (KHHS) is a national AFJROTC academic honor society that recognizes academic and military achievement by cadets, provides additional leadership and educational opportunities, and encourages excellence. Members of KHHS, once inducted, will wear the KHHS badge.
The JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl (JLAB) is a nationally recognized all-service academic competition for JROTC students. Cadets will be challenged with both JROTC and academic
knowledge questions similar to what will be seen on the ACT or SAT exams. The main goal of this competition is to prepare to prepare students for state exit/graduation exams as well as
college entrance exams, such as the SAT and ACT.
Orienteering is a sport that requires navigational skills using a map and compass to navigate from point to point in diverse and usually unfamiliar terrain whilst moving at speed. Participants are given a topographical map, usually a specially prepared orienteering map, which they use to find control points.
The ART is charged with creatively finding ways to celebrate our cadets, those who embody our cadet values, and those who serve and support our cadet corps.
This elite cadet group is responsible for presenting and posting the United States Flag and the Missouri State Flag. Typically, this team of cadets perform at school and unit functions and community events in the local area.
The Awareness Presentation Team (APT) is an academic endeavor designed to provide positive role models for elementary and middle school students through presentations and engagements
on current issues. It also supports the recruiting arm of the MO-931 organization by providing informational presentations on the JROTC program at Marquette High School.
